No why we are 35 trillion in debt and about to be in a full scale nuclear war. Even if that wasnt the case women dont want familes marriage has become meaningless and society doesnt care. So why shpuld i sacrifice my body and work my ass off for essentially nothing in the long run and dont say mo ey thats not garanteed at all especially since its not backed up by gold and when the debt bubble collapes it will be worse then the german mark in the 1920s.

It's not just hard work and hands getting dirty. Idk about other trades, but skilled trades like machining and tool making is as difficult to learn as becoming doctors, lawyers, software engineering, etc ... It takes 3-5 years minimum of apprenticeship to just become someone who is barely able to contribute without assistance or guidance. And on average, you'll be making 25-30 an hour with that amount of experience. The problem is why would kids wanna do this difficult kind of work when the pay is 3x-10x lower than mentioned careers? Don't look down on the trades, most white collar office jobs that I've observed at my company are filled with idiots who would not be able to handle the sheer amount of learning required to be a good machinist or tool maker. Yet, they get paid more.

Personally, my situation has been great, but I realize it’s not everybody’s. I started as a service tech apprentice at 20 with no experience, basic bills, single and no kids and live with my parents who I have great relationship with, and a father who has 20+ years of HVAC service tech experience who I could and can rely on ever since I started this trade. He eventually became a comfort advisor/PM and made a killing doing HVAC sales. Does bathroom remodeling sales now. The company I applied for paid great wage for no experience (19 an hour) where most will pay 12-15 starting with no experience. Had pay increases throughout the year, paid for your certs and everything and taught you sales as that’s where the real money is. I love the trade and don’t regret it at all and know I’ll be well off in 4-5 years. I could have easily gotten a desk or office job making way more at the start but it’s just not for me. You can say whatever about the trades’ pay and labor (which to me isn’t even that bad) but some people just prefer to work with their hands. I’d always recommend HVAC. For somebody who’s young, single and with no kids. People who aren’t that will have more of a fuss about the pay when they have people depending on them. You have to keep finding companies that have great people and training. They ARE out there. Trade school is useless because there’s no on the job training. You wanna start building on the job training the moment you touch a trade. When you graduate you’re still considered having no real experience. Get on as an apprentice somewhere.

It can be extremely dangerous, your body will slowly break down by 40s and you'll have to eat out of your truck, go to the washroom at a port a pottie, and be lonely at times. And we’re not perfect, we waste time naturally by not being super efficient. We lose something and now we gotta go find it. Or we check something on our phone. Or we get distracted. Blue collared workers need decent pay (for the amount of overtime they have poor pay), should also work 8 hours a day like white collars (they ALWAYS do overtime), have free weekends and time for their family (rare af) and be treated as humans. We also must acknowledge that they are sacrificing their health and bodies, so two times a week an hour of free physical therapy (maybe first hour of work time) to lower the impact on body and regular check ups should be mandatory. These are essential skills that keep the society running and should be treated as such.
